DogDay Rossmoor

This cool summer has not been the year for homegrown tomatoes. Our favorite Early Girls haven’t been easy to find at the Farmer’s Markets. School started for most of the children. My clients from Memphis, Tennessee finally sold their home there and happily moved into Rossmoor! Friday the moving truck arrived 5 hours LATE! And screwed up everything. But I had dinner for them at my home and we had a rollicking time. Since they weren’t totally moved in, they slept at a friend’s, also in Rossmoor.

Today’s Rossmoor tour consisted of NINE new homes. Three of them were pretty basic Sonoma models ranging from $103,500 to $120,000; the best was a dramatic remodel $179,900, hardwood flooring, chef’s kitchen, pillars etc. Hard to believe that this was the same model. Next came a Piedmont, which is a townhome model – 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths with great golf course views for $309,950, And a Tamelpais model which looks like the Piedmont, but has a loft master bedroom on the second floor. This home is not on the market yet but will come in below $300,000. We then saw a Santa Clara model which is level-in, 2 bedrooms + den and 1,212 sq. ft. for $339,950. Then we saw a 1,772 sq. ft. Villa Nuevo, priced at $599,000, and comes with 2 parking places. Just so happens there is a Bank Owned model for over $100,000 LESS.
On to the Villa Robles which is the model I just sold but priced $35,000 MORE and no view! The last one was a Tahoe model featuring 2 bedrooms, den, 2 bathrooms 1,542 sq. ft. and garage but original for $390,000.

Then I went to Lafayette and Walnut Creek looking for a home for a client. There were a couple of great remodels, one on Vals Lane with 2,900 sq. ft and 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths and fabulous custom chef’s kitchen with 6 gas burner Viking range, hood yada, yada for $1,298,000, A remodel on Elvia St. with 4 bed/2 ba and 1,716 sq. ft. for $825,00 -- pretty good for Lafayette schools. On to Blackwood Drive in popular Walnut Knolls. A builder had purchased this home as a remodel That was a couple of years ago. He took it down to the studs, ran out of money and then the bank foreclosed! Well another builder bought it and did the actual remodel. The home is now priced at 998,000 and has 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms and everything is new, but needs landscaping – the lot is 17,020 sq. ft. Not bad for a home that is close to the downtown of Walnut Creek!

Suddenly I’m getting a lot of activity on my Rossmoorfact.com site. Several people have expressed interest in moving and buying a home here. If you want to take a tour, just call me or e-mail me to set up a time. Plan on two hours because there is a lot to see. Oh, I almost forgot….on September 25
th there will be a Dog Day Event in the Dog Park in Rossmoor by the Del Valle Aquatic Center. Lots of vendors, contests for costumes and of course, hotdogs, drinks etc..
